The subject of geography today encompasses a wide range of topics that allow students to go on to become ecologists, environmentalists, urban developers and other such rewarding careers. The course often includes a number of field trips to see underlying principles at work and these are a highlight for many students. Geography can be taken in combination with many other subjects including geology, biology, chemistry and sociology and a good pass can lead on to a wide variety of university courses. Alternatively, geography can be used to gain access to the agricultural industry and the mining industry abroad and this opens up a whole new bunch of opportunities.
