A successful teacher is one who can form strong relationships with their students. By doing this and catering my teaching to the students way of thinking, using a range of relatable analogies and examples, the student will transform their understanding of the subject, develop an interest in the subject and be able to significantly raise their attainment.

Practically, my tutoring strategy is focused around solving exam problems (mainly through past papers). I begin by assessing the student`s current level and set achievable goals to raise the students level of understanding and attainment. We dissect exam problems to really arrive at how to solve problems, as oppose to just memorising solutions, this way the student will grow in confidence and be able to apply their new understanding to any exam problem.

As a postgraduate student in Financial Mathematics and my work experience as a Software Engineer in industry, along with extensive tutoring experience, gives me an edge in that I`ve seen how Maths is used practically and understand it intuitively. I ground my tutoring such that students understand how these subjects are used in the real world, which makes the subject much easier to pick up, and pass on the intuition of what maths is really about.

I like to tackle problems at a fundamental level as I recognise that often when a student doesn`t understand something, it is a problem that lies at the core of the subject. I will familiarise the student with how mathematicians would approach the problem at hand. In other words, I will go beyond the basic material in the course and transfer the confidence and intuition I`ve gained throughout the years studying the subject to the student.

Experience: I graduated with a first class honours in Physics from King`s College London in 2020 and went on to work as a Software Engineer at a physics simulation company. I tutored GCSE/A-Level Maths and Physics throughout university.

Now I am getting back into education and getting a Masters in Financial Mathematics, and currently tutoring Maths at all levels. I also have experience in the classroom, I worked as a Cover Teacher at a school, covering all age groups and a variety of subjects.
