I am an experienced tutor of English for all levels and ages who is currently working online. I have worked for Tutor Hunt for a number of years and have had a variety of students over this time, which I have tutored locally. The profile for repeat students is for the online tutoring only, but I have many students who stayed with me for some time when I was tutoring at my home or at the student`s home, depending on distance.

I have had good success rates with students passing exams and gaining confidence in their English Studies.

I am a helpful, creative and knowledgeable tutor with plenty of resources for students.

Availability: (Due to current situation I am only available online weekdays from 10am to 6pm.) (This may change in the future and I will update this information accordingly.) (Please note, I usually only tutor students from Year 5, Primary school upwards to adults. I am not available to tutor children from years 1 to 4.) In normal circumstances, I would be available weekday eves 4-6pm at home, and may be available Monday to Friday in the daytime between 9-4pm in Ashford by arrangement(on a bus route plus fares-Max £4.00), for home-schooled students, or others with day time availability. Areas outside Ashford, must be commutable by train, for example; Folkestone, Dover or Canterbury; or by bus, for example, Hythe or Tenterden and tuition must be for a minimum of two hours at a time, plus train or bus fares.

Tuition in my home is available for children up to 16 years and females over 16 only. I do not tutor adult males at home, but would consider going to their house, if they live with their family.

I am not usually available at weekends, long-term.

Experience: I have over 30 years experience of tutoring both in the UK and Japan. I have taught students English on a one-to-one basis, in small and large classes in the private, independent and state sector. I am an experienced distance learning tutor eg online, by telephone, email and through the post.

I have also worked on a contract and agency basis in 6th form and FE Colleges. I have taught: EFL, ESL, Basic to Advanced English, IELTS, Business Communication,11+ Entrance Exams for Private Schools, Key Skills - Literacy, GCSE English(AQA), IGCSE English(EdExcel Pearson) - Lang and Lit, Key Stages 2/3 English, Speech Making, Spoken English, Interview Skills, Back to Work Skills, CV Writing, Elocution and Drama.
