Information about Jennifer
I am a qualified primary school teacher, currently in my 9th year of teaching and recently graduating with a Masters degree in Childhood and Youth.
Being passionate about learning myself, I aim to promote a love of learning amongst all children I work with by delivering vibrant and varied learning experiences that challenge, engage and inspire.
I am an enthusiastic, friendly individual with a good sense of humour and believe that creative, child-centred lessons are key to empowering and supporting children to feel confident and reach their full potential.
I am passionate about active learning and enjoy incorporating memorable, interactive activities into sections of my lessons that get children up and moving. Encouraging children to make cross-curricular links with other areas of their learning and experiences is also a priority of mine and leads to pupils raising insightful questions and developing a greater sense of achievement.
I believe in creating a positive learning environment and work hard to develop mutually-respectful working relationships with both children and families by communicating effectively, setting goals and sharing the learning journey process.
Availability: Evenings. I will try to accommodate your needs.
Willing to travel: 5 miles
Experience: As a primary school teacher, I have good subject knowledge and experience utilising strategies to support children with varying degrees of need, as well as stretching and challenging those with excellent academic abilities. I am dedicated to boosting pupils confidence and independence whilst addressing learning gaps so that children can take ownership of their education and feel proud of their progress.
The majority of my teaching has been in upper KS2 (Year 5 and 6) however I am confident in adapting lessons for all primary year groups and I am currently teaching in Year 2. I aim to build on strengths and interests to ensure pupils are fully motivated and receive engaging learning experiences that are personal and relevant to them.
My Masters degree in Childhood and Youth has been an important element in my professional development and further enhanced my teaching skills by equipping me with a deeper understanding of childrens participation and adapting to diverse and changing needs.
Whilst I enjoy teaching across the primary curriculum, I have a great interest in teaching SPAG (Spelling and Grammar) in English to improve sentence construction, vocabulary choices and punctuation for creative writing. I also have a Maths specialism as part of my PGCE from Warwick University which has provided me with the skills to engage children in Maths by breaking down tricky concepts and making lessons fun, interactive and accessible.

Jenny (Mrs)

Jenny easily built a rapport with my little girl and quickly established what her strengths and weaknesses were. Lessons were always really well prepared and Jenny had a calm and positive attitude when working with her. This really helped to build her confidence. I would readily recommend Jenny to anyone!
