Information about Fizza
A final year medical student with 5+ years of private tutoring and 3+ years of formal classroom teaching and assisting experience.
I am a final year medic at King`s College London, with an intercalated BSc from UCL in cardiovascular sciences (1st class honours), and GCSE`s (8A*s, 3As) and A Levels (A*AA) from Nonsuch High School for Girls. For three years, I have worked as a Teaching Assistant (and later assistant manager/team leader) at a 11+ tutoring centre and gained a wealth of personable skills, and have been privately tutoring for 5 years. In my free time, I partake in university extracurricular activities, including playing for the hockey team and leading two societies as president.
My teaching is personsed to each student. Through my experience in tutoring 1-1, teaching larger classes and working with under 18s in various settings, I have developed my teaching style which is adaptable to the student. I believe in efficiency in lessons so am keen to make the most of the lesson time with regular active recall and varying teaching resources, however I will take as long as needed to ensure my students are confident.
I am generally easy going and prefer to teach through encouragement and positive feedback, as this keeps morale up which aids effective learning. Resources provided in the lesson self-sourced or self-made, including worksheets, question booklets and revision aids. Homework is also provided after each lesson, as well as my availability over WhatsApp to answer any quick question the student or parent might have for the homework/classwork. I keep track of every students` performance and am happy to share this with parents/guardians where requested.
Availability: Please contact me to find a time suitable for both of us.
Willing to travel: Home Only
Experience: I have five years of formal tutoring under my belt, which includes teaching GCSE and A level students to help them reach their target grades or boost their predicted grades to match and surpass their goal.
For the past three years, I have been a mentor for groups of younger medical students and have delivered teaching sessions on the medical curriculum, with content far more advanced than A Level standards.
Alongside this, I have worked at TestTeach (a tutoring centre for the eleven plus entrance exam for grammar schools) for three years, which has given me plenty of experience and knowledge in this field and allowed me to comprehensively tutor this subject.
With my experience, I am able to make a judgement on the level of working of each student and tailor my resources and teaching style around them. Through my experiences, I have gained insight into working with children which has developed my communication skills with a wide range of ages and abilities which proves to make sessions more effective.

We have only had one starter session with Fizza so far. Fizza arrived on time and came with a range of materials to assess my 8 year old daughters ability. She is very friendly and chatty and put my daughter at ease. She came across as very organised, certainly knew her stuff and kept my daughter on task. She left behind some work for my daughter to complete and we are hoping to start regular tutor sessions with Fizza come September.
