Hello there! I offer engaging and effective English tuition for non-native English speakers of all ages (children, teens, adults). My lessons are interactive and practical with a focus on improving your functional communication. I`ll help you to develop ‘real world’ language skills that you can use in your normal daily life. The goal is for you - and other people - to really notice the improvement in your English!

I also specialise in English pronunciation and have helped people from all over the world to speak more clearly and confidently. Previous students have mentioned improvements in many areas of their life as a result, including:

ABOUT ME

I`m an experienced Speech and Language Therapist (MSc) and experienced and qualified teacher of English as a Foreign Language (EFL). I also have a degree in modern languages (BA HONS) and speak several additional languages myself. So I understand that mastering a new language can be really fun but also really frustrating!


ABOUT THE SESSIONS

My sessions usually involve the following elements:

1. Initial assessment of strengths and needs
2. Setting goals – together we will establish what your goals are and what changes are realistic with the time and resources available to you
3. Weekly/fortnightly sessions to work on a range of language skills and areas Sessions are highly interactive, practical and focused on specific goals
4. Weekly homework to consolidate skills covered in sessions
6. Generalisation work - I`ll help you make that transition from the classroom to the real world, so that you can integrate your new skills into everyday life.

Experience: I have worked for years as both a Speech and Language Therapist (with children and teens) and as an English teacher (with children, teens and adults). I combine specialist approaches from the field of Speech and Language Therapy with the `tried and tested` methods used to teach non-native English speakers. This unique combination means that I can help students with a wide range of difficulties and learning styles.

I have considerable experience of working with students with a range of special educational needs, including ASD, ADHD, DLD, Downs Syndrome and other additional needs. As a result, I can adapt my sessions to cater for different learning needs and styles and know how to make learning fun and engaging.
