Information about Timothy
I have developed a strong and effective teaching style over the past year of teaching and I have a number of approaches which make learning Spanish fun and meaningful. I use Spanish as the expected means for communication in my lessons through strategic use of gesturing and cognates but I teach grammar related issues in English as clarity of rules and exceptions to the rules is important. I can easily cater to different types of language learners; those who prefer the whole lesson explained in English, those who prefer discussion of polemic issues in the language (I have a comprehensive catalogue of authentic hispanic resources), those who prefer learning the more logical grammatical nuances of the language (por vs para for example) or the more expressive idiomatic side of the language (the day to day communicative Spanish which you would come across in Spain).
I offer a good price because I am new to individual tutoring and therefore my priority is to build up a client database over the coming summer holiday. I am based in South East London (Dulwich) and would be happy to travel locally as I am able to get around by car.
Please do get in touch for any enquiries and I will be happy to discuss and work out a suitable programme for your language needs.

Availability: I am available weekdays in the evening and weekends
Willing to travel: 5 miles
Experience: I am a recently qualified Spanish (KS3 - A Level) and French (KS3) secondary school teacher and have been teaching since September 2018. I therefore have a strong grasp on the exam requirements for GCSE / A Level and having studied and passed the DELE C1 exam I furthermore have a good understanding of the international DELE exams framework for A1-C1 level.
My journey with the Spanish language began through studying it to A Level at Dulwich College in 2011. I studied music at Cardiff University and then worked in the travel industry for two years.
I left the profession and moved to Valencia, Spain in 2017 where I lived for 2 years with locals and attended the Taronja Language School where I studied for and was awarded the DELE (Diploma de Español como Lengua Extranjera) C1 exam by the Instituto Cervantes in May 2018.
