Information about Dan

Hello! My name is Dan, and since my introduction to the study of English at a young age, I have simply adored versing myself with literature from various era’s. I went on to study English (Literature and Language as separate qualifications) at GCSE, achieving the first grade 9 in Hampshire for English Literature (my class was the first year to trial the new format GCSE grading system). I also achieved a Grade 8 in Language. I followed this success at GCSE by taking English Literature at A-Level (a notoriously hard course, but an enjoyable one nonetheless) where I managed to attain an A-grade at the end of my second year). Unfortunately, my academic pursuit of literature and the English language as a whole ended with the completion of my A-levels, but I still keep myself immersed in Literature; reading works from various authors in between the work I am set for my degree. I am a second year, studying Law at Swansea University, but my personal studies will not conflict with my ability to provide regular tutoring sessions- due to the transient nature of moving back and forth for university, my tutoring sessions are entirely digital, and would be held over a video-calling platform of your choice (Skype, Zoom, FaceTime- whichever works!) I hold my tutoring sessions in a very individual style I believe works incredibly well for keeping student’s attention, as well as keeping them engaged in the work. I aim to recreate the sense of wonder I feel when engulphed in a good book for those I tutor- I realise the study of English is not everybody’s forte, but I believe that by presenting the work as more of a challenge and an activity, rather than work, a student can be reconditioned to enjoy the process of learning, rather than seeing it as a chore. All prices are negotiable to an extent, as are schedules for sessions. Feel free to contact me at any time to discuss any enquiries you may have.

Many Thanks,

Dan.
