Information about Nicola
Full-time secondary Maths, Statistics and Finance teacher and part-time A-level, iGCSE Further Maths and Statistics exam marker. Experience of both Edexcel and AQA.
I live and work in Lewisham but (when available) willing to travel to neighbouring boroughs, as well as do online sessions.
I`ve been tutoring for 11 years at GCSE level which I thoroughly enjoy as it gives me a chance to work 1-2-1 with students and directly with their strengths and weaknesses.
My specialism is exam preparation for GCSE, finding any skills gaps and helping students to apply this to the type of problem-solving scenarios which make up a large proportion of the current GCSE specification. My Finance background gives me additional experience to assist with the estimated 25% of the questions which have a Financial topic.
I have also tutored for KS2 SATs in non-verbal reasoning.
FULL DBS CERTIFICATE HELD - working in school full-time requires DBS by law, and this is renewed every 2 years. Happy to provide further details if required.

Nicola has been teaching my son GCSE Maths, she is really friendly and explains things clearly , she is punctual and organised with the topics that are covered and send follow up texts to make me aware of what Harry needs to work on and what has been covered which is really helpful

Nicola`s teaching has been outstanding both in terms of my son`s learning being enjoyable (which isn`t easy!) and also in terms of end results and confidence in more challenging topics. Nicola also provided end of lesson practice questions that I could print and that have been really helpful. Nicola`s teaching, which was helpfully provided at very short notice, really has helped with exam preparation and confidence in the last end of term holiday before the GCSE exams. Understanding a new student`s needs at such short notice is impressive. I really would strongly recommend Nicola as a maths teacher.
