Information about Ariane
I am a musician based in London. I have a BMus (Hons) degree from the Royal College of Music and was awarded the Jacqueline Ward Award to continue my studies there with Melissa Phelps.
I regularly perform with Chineke! and have been invited to perform on the Maiastra Chamber Music Courses. I was Principal of Street Orchestra Live and have done outreach work with the English Touring Opera on their "Turtle Song" Project.
I believe that music should be available to people from all walks of life. For people who can pay, learning a musical instrument is always a possibility, but I am very aware that, for a lot of people, the expense of paying for lessons and extra curricular musical activities can be very discouraging.
Therefore, my standard lesson fee is not fixed and I am open to flexibility depending upon each students individual circumstance.
I am an energetic and lively person, and am very passionate about teaching and choose to make lessons engaging and exciting. I like to tailor make lessons in accordance to the individual student and am very familiar with ABRSM and Trinity examination material.
My main aim is to best serve the needs of each student, whether you want to be a professional musician or to simply learn for fun.
I teach the cello to students of all ages and abilities, from complete beginners to advanced level.
Piano-wise, I am able to offer tuition up to Grade 6 standard and both cello and piano lessons will always include elements of music theory and aural.
For music theory, I am able to provide a thorough covering of the basics to both adult learners and children.
Availability: I have a flexible schedule so hopefully we will be able to work out a suitable time.
Willing to travel: Home Only
Experience: I teach the cello and also conduct the String Ensemble at Ealing Junior Music School, I teach the cello and piano at Music House For Children and work with the Benedetti Foundation.
I am the founder of The David Ferguson Memorial Prize and Director of the All Things Cello Courses.
