I tutor English Literature, English language and English as a second language.
Having graduated from Cambridge with a BA Honours Degree in English, I pursued tutoring. This is because I enjoy interacting with, and imparting knowledge to, young people. I strongly believe that students can release another aspect of their potential when given the opportunity.
My tutoring approach is simple: the student tells me their struggles, we go through the learning styles and determine the best approach.

Penge has been absolutely brilliant for my son, helping him through years 10 and 11 English Language and Literature. My son did not enjoy English at all and found both language and literature inaccessible and boring. After working with Penge he`s come to enjoy both aspects and now enthuses about the themes, characters and language in his set texts and has developed a lovely curiosity around the use of words. His grades have drastically improved along with his confidence and I couldn`t be more grateful. I`d thoroughly recommend Penge to anyone who is not getting on with English or needs a bit more support or focus - or just wants to enjoy the subject more!

Excellent tutor…. Very patient and would focus the lesson on whatever my daughter wanted to cover. Her predicted grades were very average. Under the excellent tuition of Penge she achieved a 9 in English literature and a 7 in English language! English is not her strong point, and she was delighted with these grades!

My daughter achieved grade 9 in English Lit after 5 sessions with Penge a few months back! Her last mock grade was 7, and her hope was grade 8. The result is more than we expected, my daughter is absolutely over the moon. Penge`s tutoring was essential to her improvement. I did not sit through lessons, so do not know details of tutoring but the feedback he gave is very detailed. My daughter said Penge`s tutoring is very precise so she understood what to do to achieve marks. We can`t thank Penge enough! High recommended!
